Abstract

Background. The size of international trade in services is of particular relevance as an indicator of the level of economic development, openness of the economy and the scale of international cooperation. Materials and methods. The study was based on official statistics on the development of foreign economic relations of the Penza region in the sphere of trade in services. The implementation of the research goal was achieved through the use of methods of statistical and comparative analysis. Results. Based on the analysis of international trade in services in the Penza region for 2018–2019. the most demanded services on the international market, produced and purchased in the region, are revealed, the ratio and dynamics of exports and imports for a number of international services are revealed. Conclusions. Trade in services is one of the most promising areas of foreign economic activity in the region and requires the development and activities of relevant institutions and activities aimed at supporting and intensifying this activity.
